As before, an Accord Coupe is available and this time, Honda worked harder to differentiate it from its sedan sibling. As a result, the Coupe looks wonderful from every angle and shares very few body components with the four-door version. Coupe buyers can choose four-cylinder and V6 versions, but the big surprise was a V6 Coupe with six-speed manual transmission. This is a real blast to drive and should help the entire Accord range develop more credibility with the performance road car crowd.

The Honda Accord has undergone the most dramatic change in its 27-year history with the introduction of the 2003 model. The Accord, the best-selling car in America in 2001, features new styling for both sedan and coupe models. Catering to those who prefer a formal coupe body style with a trunk, an Accord Coupe joined the hatchback and sedan for 1988. As with the hatchback, the new notchback two-door was available in either base DX or loaded LXi trim. Very minor tweaks to the sedan's taillights and bumpers were the lone visual changes for the '88 Accord. Functionally, a bump in horsepower for the LXi engine (from 110 to 120 hp) improved the performance of the top Accords.
