When you purchase a hybrid electric vehicle or another qualifying alternative fuel vehicle, you can qualify for a "clean-fuel vehicle" IRS tax deduction. The federal government provides this adjustment to your gross income. The Toyota Prius, Honda Insight and Honda Civic Hybrid qualify as "clean-fuel vehicles" under the incentive, which is available through 2005.

As has been the case with Civic Tours in the past, which have featured such bands as Blink-182, Incubus, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, Everclear and Dashboard Confessional, Maroon 5 will be accompanied on the tour by a car they designed. The band has chosen special custom features for the environmentally friendly Honda Civic Hybrid and Honda Civic Coupe, which will be showcased at each venue.

In July, two new hybrid vehicles were released to the market and the Mercury Mariner Hybrid (pictured) received a surprising endorsement from the Sierra Club. The second model, the Honda Civic Hybrid, features an improved drive system that will increase overall system output by 20 percent.
