Honda CRX Reviews
Honda, you need to re-release this car again. Honda stopped making the CRX to go to the hidious Del Sol, which everyone knows was a big flop for Honda. The CRX was an inexpensive little car and sold them like hotcakes. Honda should release this car again with the 00's of today's needs and looks and price it in the low 10,000 range.
Parker's - Honda CRX (92-97) review
The Honda CRX is a two seat coupe with a hard top which can be removed by hand and placed in the boot, or alternatively, an electrically removable option was available (that pre-dates the Mercedes-Benz SLK by four years). It looks like it is mid-engined along the lines of a Toyota MR-2, but is in fact front-wheel-driver and closely related to the Civic. If it is badged Del Sol, then it's an import and may have a engine not available in the UK.
Honda CR-X - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Honda CR-X, originally launched as the Honda Ballade Sports CR-X in Japan, is a compact sports car manufactured by Honda. The first generation CR-X was sold in some regions outside Japan as the Honda Civic CR-X. There have been many rumours of a CR-X comback, none of which have come to fruition. However, In August 2005 the usually reliable Autoweek reported that Honda plans a revival of the CR-X brand that is sheduled to be on the market in 2007.
Crutchfield Advisor - Show Car - James Turner's Honda CRX
The day he bought the car, the task before him certainly looked ominous. The CRX dripped oil all the way to his house, literally painting the pavement. Despite blowing up the engine just two blocks from his house, James managed to get the car to his garage and took stock of the enormous job ahead of him. One look at this beautiful car now and it's amazing to think how much work James has done. He completely rebuilt the entire CRX from the ground up: the stock Honda CRX DX engine got yanked and replaced with a 130-horsepower Japanese-built ZC engine. A Venom VCN2000 computerized nitrous system adds another 25 to 180 horsepower to this road rocket! The exterior of the CRX absolutely glistens - James chose an Orion Metallic Silver paint finish with ghosted flames. 17-inch Enkei CDR9 wheels, a silver Kaminari body kit, Aerogear Z3 fiberglass front fenders, and APC clear corners and bumper lenses adorn the body. The rear of the car showcases a DC Sports exhaust cat-back system with polished muffler and 4" stainless steel tip.

Initially Honda offered the CRX only with a manually removable roof panel. The system is simple enough and the panel stores in the boot space, but it is large and relatively heavy and it's worth checking you can do it single-handedly. The electric roof option, introduced on VTi models in January 1993, may make for a great car-park trick, but all the motors and arms take up valuable luggage space and what started off as a good size of boot becomes seriously limited. The little Honda's reasonable purchase price, sharp handling and strong engine have caused it to find favour among the tuning fraternity, so it's getting harder to find an unmolested example of a CRX for sale. Britain also has more than its fair share of imported cars, usually badged Del Sol. These can vary from the standard British spec in several ways, some significant, others less so. It's worth talking to an independent specialist before buying an import as some spare parts can differ and be disproportionately expensive to buy.

Restyled in 1988 and produced through 1991, the CRX was very popular for its performance (the "Si" model), quick handling, and good fuel economy (the "HF" model could reliably achieve better than 50 miles per gallon, more than a decade before gas-electric hybrids appeared on the market).

DOHC engine putting out 128 bhp. The Si engine was stamped ZC, whilst the 16v stamped D16A9. Honda refreshed the looks of the car in these markets in 1990 when it added the B16A VTEC engine in the 150 bhp VT and 160bhp SiR models in the UK & Europe and Japan respectively. The CR-X was the second car to receive a Honda VTEC engine after the Integra. The Mk 2 CR-X was replaced in 1993 by the Mk 3 CR-X del Sol, a targa top 2-seater again based on the Civic platform.
